nikkidubs asked: People don't seem to understand that "words change meanings all the time" doesn't really apply to a word used to label a group of (marginalized) people. "Gay" is not simply being used as a synonym for "stupid," it's used to emasculate a person (or, in some cases, an object). Using "fag" to describe something you find "stupid" is even worse, because "fag" is a pejorative term. Anyone who says they "don't mean it like that" is skirting responsibility for continuing to marginalize a minority.
